Appearance

A colossal, powerfully built man, Punch has a shaved head and dark circles ringing his eyes, with a scar tracing from the left of his face down across his neck and into his upper body. He typically wears a plain ruffle-collared shirt with the sleeves pushed up, sandals on his feet, and keeps Monster slung over his shoulders. During the 500 Million Man Arc he sported a backpack, while for the Elbaph Arc he added a cape across his shoulders.

In his earliest childhood-era appearance he was noticeably leaner and dressed differently, in a striped shirt with a sash.

Abilities

Holding senior officer rank, Punch commands the crew's lower members, and his strength fits Commodore Brannew's note that the whole crew averages high bounties. His method is to charge up and release crushing punches or counterstrikes, leaving Monster to occupy weaker foes while he sets up his blow. He also appears to keep a flintlock pistol on hand, though the story has yet to show him fire it. Punch had already sailed with the crew a dozen years before the present, partying and telling a young Luffy about piracy's joys. He turned up at Marineford ready to help end the Summit War, later cheered Luffy's progress while sailing off Wano, and after the timeskip celebrated the Straw Hats' fresh bounties. In the Final Saga he assisted in delivering Marco to Sphinx, saw Shanks crush the Kid Pirates at Elbaph, and joined the move on Gartel Island against the Barto Club. He also appeared at Uta's concert on Elegia in the non-canon film Red.
