Once sailing under Rocks D. Xebec, Ochoku later seized control of Hachinosu and held it deep into the Great Pirate Era, until Blackbeard toppled him during the Rocky Port Incident. A self-serving schemer, he is also known by the name Wang Zhi.
Standing at a bulk comparable to Edward Newgate, Ochoku cuts an unpleasant figure. Grease-slicked light green hair sits above a pronounced widow's peak, and his darkened lips frame a long, split tongue. Pointed ears lend a demonic cast to his features. His wardrobe runs to a purple dress shirt trimmed with frills, a red cravat at the throat, a yellow greatcoat draped over the shoulders, and floral-patterned dark trousers.
The years left their mark: some time past the God Valley Incident, he picked up scarring across one cheek and along his forehead.
Greed and cold self-interest define him. Beaten by Rocks D. Xebec in a Davy Back Fight, he threw in with the man not out of loyalty but to chase ambitions of his own, chief among them the takeover of Hachinosu. Shortly ahead of the God Valley Incident, he is implied to have handed Shakuyaku over to the World Government as bait for its Native Hunting Competition. The moment Rocks fell at God Valley, Ochoku moved to claim the island for himself.
His path with Rocks began upwards of 48 years ago, when a lost Davy Back Fight bound him to the future captain. The group made its way to Elbaph and dined with King Harald, who cautioned them away from Rocks, though the warning went unheeded. Roughly 44 years back the Rocks Pirates formally came together, and within two years they had raided the International Philanthropy Federation's temple at Foot Colony. Leading the getaway, Ochoku fielded a call from Kyo, Newgate, and Kaidou trapped in the basement; he relayed their plea to Shiki, who lobbed a bomb down instead. A collapsing temple nearly buried the whole crew before Newgate's Shima Yurashi shook them loose.
About 40 years ago he was present at Shakuyaku's establishment when Gol D. Roger came looking for her. A year after Shakky's kidnapping, when word of her location leaked across the seas, Ochoku dismissed the God Valley expedition as a trap and stayed behind. His crewmates left without him for what became the God Valley Incident. Afterward the crew scattered; Ochoku made his name, took Hachinosu, and expanded his reach. His grip held until the Rocky Port Incident, where Blackbeard, aided somehow by Koby, defeated him and took the island.
Ochoku, also known as Wang Zhi, is a former member of the Rocks Pirates who later seized control of Hachinosu and ruled it deep into the Great Pirate Era.
Ochoku was defeated by Marshall D. Teach, known as Blackbeard, who took Hachinosu from him during the Rocky Port Incident with help from Koby.
Ochoku ruled Hachinosu before Blackbeard, having claimed the island for himself after Rocks D. Xebec fell at the God Valley Incident.
Ochoku joined Rocks D. Xebec's crew after losing a Davy Back Fight to him, though his loyalty was thin. He was chasing his own ambitions, chiefly the eventual takeover of Hachinosu.
Ochoku led the getaway during the Rocks Pirates' raid on the International Philanthropy Federation's temple at Foot Colony. When Kyo, Newgate, and Kaidou were trapped in the basement, he relayed their plea to Shiki, who dropped a bomb down instead of helping.
