Pochi is a dog kept by the Dadan Family, an anime-only addition to Luffy's childhood on Dawn Island. Bright and a touch mischievous, the little canine also shares the bandits' notable failing: none of them can tell a convincing lie.

Appearance

Coated in cream-white fur, this dog carries a tail that loops upward and ears shaped like a fox's. The fur reads as medium in length, and the tongue usually lolls out of the mouth. Each eye slopes downward, white in color with a single black dot serving as the pupil. Taken together, the look brings to mind a shiba.

Personality

A sly, clever streak runs through Pochi, who proved as much by making off with Luffy's food on the boy's opening night under the Dadan roof. The one family trait he cannot escape is the household's shared inability to lie well.

History

The dog turned up on Luffy's first evening with the bandits, snatching a share of food the boy was scrambling for at their rowdy dinner table. Sabo's later arrival left Pochi, together with Magra, Dogra, and Dadan, baffled over the stranger and demanding he explain who he was. Once Luffy, Ace, and Sabo cautioned the family to watch for Bluejam, the whole group, dog included, practiced fibbing to the pirate should it ever be needed, and every last one of them proved useless at it. Pochi also shows up next to Dadan when she drops into a trap the boys rigged, and beside Luffy when Ace and Dadan finally make it home.
