Appearance

Puppu is a heavy, rotund figure whose round face, bulbous nose, rows of rounded teeth, and untidy gray hair give him a distinctly pig-like look, an impression sharpened by spindly limbs and stubby, thick fingers on his broad body. He keeps a plain white shirt loose over a red sash, with blue trousers and simple shoes. Rather than draping his brown captain's coat like a cape, he wears it through the sleeves; its five large buttons are shaped like pig snouts, and his tricorn bears a Jolly Roger of a square pig skull topped with a leaf.

Personality

Pride defined him. He regarded the Seven Warlords of the Sea as pirates who had sold their souls to the World Government, little better than its dogs, and so reckoned himself above Crocodile. That arrogance pushed him to recklessly challenge the Warlord, sealing his crew's doom.

History

By strength he was no more than a run-of-the-mill pirate, capable enough to have sailed the Grand Line as far as Arabasta but utterly outclassed by a Warlord; he carried a large cutlass of unknown skill. When he set his sights on robbing a port city under Crocodile's direct protection, he taunted the Warlord as a government dog, and as Crocodile dropped down to greet the crew, Puppu and his men ran him through with every blade they had. His triumph curdled into terror when Crocodile raised a sandstorm that drew the moisture from their bodies. Afterward the Warlord was seen hauling the crew away, crammed into a single large sack.
