RENmaru

A young man whose light hair reaches a medium length, RENmaru sports a long, drooping cap shaped like a Phrygian hat, with metal buttons studding the band around its base. Curving white lines sweep across the front of his black jacket as well as the back.

Not much has surfaced about RENmaru's character, though his enthusiasm for music, rap above all, comes through clearly. Being labeled a public nuisance does not faze him, since he gathered with the other rappers by the station even as it bothered the people walking past, and he holds plenty of confidence in his own ability. A huge devotee of One Piece, he knew the franchise well enough to catch that Usopp had tucked away, inside a single verse, the name of every pirate sailing under Roger, yet his knowledge still fell short of beating the sharpshooter.

Together with a host of fellow freestylers, RENmaru ran a cypher complete with speakers just outside a neighborhood station, swapping verses there every day across a fortnight and leaving some locals who used the stop on edge. Before long, Usopp confronted the group. Once he had overpowered RYU-HEY, BEZ, and a couple of other rappers, RENmaru came forward and proposed a sixteen-bar duel running two turns, its theme drawn from One Piece, pledging that the rappers would vacate the station should he lose.

The two volleyed verses back and forth, and when Usopp seemed to drop the theme during round two, the onlookers named RENmaru the winner. He declined the title, pointing out that Usopp had slipped each Roger Pirates member's name into his lines, and acknowledged his own defeat. Keeping his pledge, the rappers relocated their cypher the very next day to a place where they would cause no disturbance.
