Usopp

During the years preceding the timeskip, Usopp reads as a slim, tan teen whose curly black hair runs to medium length, with a pronounced nose and full lips; the nose he got from his mother, while everything else about his features echoes his father. A typical look for him pairs an olive plaid bandanna and a striped wristband of blue and white with sniper goggles, brown overalls cinched at a white sash over a bare chest, and a yellow bag stuffed full of gadgets. Through the series he tries on a range of outfits, including the caped and masked Sogeking guise worn at Enies Lobby. After the two-year break he comes back bulkier and more muscular, his hair grown out, sporting a small goatee, a wide-brimmed sun cap, suspendered yellow trousers, and a red satchel that supplants the former yellow one.

Despite his ingrained timidity, Usopp is propelled by a wish to become a brave sea warrior cut from the same cloth as his father Yasopp, and he labors daily to make that ideal real.

Born to the pirate Yasopp and the late Banchina, Usopp came of age in Syrup Village, where he captained the modest Usopp Pirates and forged a close bond with his friend Kaya. His help in bringing down the Black Cat Pirates and their captain Kuro earned him a place aboard as the crew's fourth member and third recruit, signing on as the Syrup Village Arc drew to a close. A bitter split during the Water 7 Arc pushed him to walk away, yet he reconciled and came back once the Post-Enies Lobby Arc reached its conclusion. His earliest bounty, 30,000,000 berries, was posted under the Sogeking name in the wake of Enies Lobby; the sum rose to 200,000,000 under his true name after Dressrosa and hit 500,000,000 once the Onigashima raid was done.
