Sasoz

Light blue in color and tall in build, Sasoz is a fish-man crowned with blond hair that drapes over one eye. The visible eye is large and round, set under a curling eyebrow, and his face features thick orange lips around a jutting mouth. In place of arms he has fins.

A streak of delusion runs through Sasoz, who rates his nearly lethal cooking as superb work. He also leaps to the assumption that anyone who comes near him must be hoping to train under him as a disciple.

Echoing his counterpart Sanji, Sasoz works as a professional chef, yet he stands as Sanji's opposite in skill: his food is so vile that eating it made Mechayowa Yoro vomit blood and black out. Sasoz, by contrast, finds his own dishes delicious and eats them with delight. He later picks up a way to mimic Supreme King Haki by cooking up a dish of foul-smelling ingredients, though the effect strikes him as well as everyone else.

His story opens at home, where Chinpy, Kusopp, and Yoro arrived to recruit him on account of his cooking and the resemblance of his name to Sanji's. Misreading the offer as a bid to become his pupils, Sasoz demanded they cook to impress him. Kusopp's attempt failed, Yoro's pleased him, and after Sasoz prepared his own dish, Yoro fainted from the taste. Won over by Chinpy's own cooking, Sasoz agreed to join.
