Appearance

At a glance Shelly seems to be a white mare, yet her neck and legs are drawn out to such ridiculous lengths that Chopper first took her for a giraffe. Tonjit insists this makes her not a horse but a hooooorse, a species all her own. Her gear is simple: a slim brown bridle paired with a deep red saddle trimmed in a lighter shade of brown.

Personality

Warmth defines her. She nuzzles up to Chopper soon after meeting him and greets Tonjit the same affectionate way once he comes back. Above all she is steadfast, having held her ground for ten years rather than wander off while she waited for the master who had been stranded apart from her.

History

When Tonjit found himself trapped up in a stilt house, Shelly stayed put on the ground below, keeping her long vigil. Years later Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper came across her near a home during their visit to Long Ring Long Land, still waiting after a full decade. Tonjit's return brought a joyful reunion, but it was cut short when Foxy shot and wounded her, an act that pushed Luffy into entering the Davy Back Fight.

As the contest dragged on, the first crew member Luffy claimed from the Foxy Pirates was Shelly herself, taken so she could be handed back to Tonjit. After the Straw Hats won, they returned to check on the pair and found her healing well, and Aokiji soon used his Hie Hie no Mi to freeze the sea so Tonjit and Shelly could rejoin their fellow nomads. Two years on she stood beside Tonjit as he read the paper among his grandchildren, and during the Egghead broadcast she again kept company with the family while Vegapunk's message played.
