Shimoi Zappa

Extremely lanky, Zappa has wavy hair in a purplish-white shade that hangs long. His wardrobe combines a turquoise plaid shirt under a violet coat, leather gloves in brown, trousers also tinted violet, and brown boots layered over fluffy pink socks. A regulation Marine jacket completes the look, though he knots its sleeves at the front of his throat rather than wearing it normally.

Bashful yet relentlessly amorous, Zappa courts practically every woman around him and sinks into deep gloom each time he is rebuffed. His fixation on romance mirrors Sanji's, and he ignores the fact that Nami sails as a pirate when he sets his sights on her. Pursuing both Nami and Carrot at once, he openly admits he wants several partners. He also reveals a masochistic streak, requesting another jolt after Carrot strikes him with Electro, and he peppers his speech with the occasional Italian phrase.

Zappa boasts unusually keen hearing, catching Carrot utter Nami's name across a wide gap while the nearby Marines noticed nothing. His raw strength lets his sword swings compress the air into forceful slashes, and he is highly durable, springing up after Carrot's Electro, Nami's upgraded Thunder Breed Tempo, and even a falling water tank. He dual-wields katana with skill, can set the blades alight, and has trained in the Six Powers, using Geppo to leap across the base and keep pace with the seasoned Bonham. His signature moves include Love Slashing, twin flying sword strikes, and Burning Blow, a huge fireball flung from his swords. Having served under Aokiji alongside Grount and Bonham before the admiral departed, he was stationed on Fron Island, where he repeatedly broke off the fight against Luffy to propose to the women before he and Bonham were finally beaten.
