Personality

Years of being bought and sold never crushed her spirit, and she worked to keep a cheerful outlook through it all. She paid attention to anyone who showed her kindness and held deep gratitude toward them. Crime of any sort repelled her, a conviction that would shape the choices of the man who loved her.

History

Her enslavement began when her father's gambling debts cost him everything, and from the age of eighteen she was confined to a human auction house. There she crossed paths with Gild Tesoro, who fell for her completely. Because she could not abide criminals, he abandoned his unlawful ways and labored at honest work to purchase her release. Three years later, before he could succeed, a World Noble bought her and carried her off to Mary Geoise. Tesoro tried to rescue her and was beaten down and enslaved himself. Her final words to him were that she could stay happy simply by holding onto their memories together. Two years of abuse at her master's hands ended her life. Her death, layered atop every other misery in his past, convinced Tesoro that wealth was the world's only truth. Once he fled Mary Geoise and raised Gran Tesoro, he honored her with a bayside spectacle called the Gold Stella Show, and her parting words returned to his mind in the moment before Luffy brought him down.
