Appearance

Age has left Wetton shriveled and deeply lined, though his hair and beard keep a vivid red. The facial hair forms a chin curtain, the whiskers linking head to jaw while the area above the chin stays shaved, a look he has reportedly maintained for half a century. In his younger raiding days his mane ran longer and wilder to the neck, he sported blue tattoos across his chest, a plain cape, and a ring through his left nostril that is now gone. These days he dresses in a purple uniform matching his soldiers and kin, and he leans on a cane topped with a red bull's head, echoing the figurehead of his old vessel, the Tarielishin.

Personality

What Wetton craves above all is comfort and safety, which is why he abandoned the pirate's life to settle into a mayor's chair. Settling down did nothing to soften him, however. He clamped down on the island with the same ruthlessness he once showed at sea, only now expressed through absurd, almost comic oppression. His petty cruelty shows in the ridiculous levies he imposes, including a charge for eating food the citizens had already paid for.

Abilities

His real leverage was political. Ruling Ruluka gave Wetton command of its laws, which he twisted through his loyal government into nonsensical taxation, a power that evaporated the moment he was arrested for piracy. In his raiding prime, when he torched Ruluka, he was a powerful fighter who swung an enormous, ornate single-edged axe. Time stripped that strength away, leaving him with a far smaller axe and feeble swings.

To compensate, he now relies on his Flame Suit, a mechanical rig fitted with twin flamethrowers on its arms and kept fueled by a dedicated crew. Its signature move, Silver Barbecue, unleashes a torrent of fire at any target already pinned down by Flip's net. He once funded Henzo's work through his outlandish taxes, bankrolling the Rainbow Tower in hopes of reaching the treasures hidden within the Rainbow Mist.
