The Morning Comes! Luffy and the Others Rest!

Word reaches Mary Geoise that two of the Emperors have fallen and that Wano now stands free. Studying the reports, the Five Elders accept that the legendary Nika has resurfaced in the shape of Luffy. They instruct a surviving CP0 operative to seize Robin, only for an unknown party to commandeer the snail transmission mid-call.

Dawn breaks over Wano, and the population keeps celebrating its escape from Orochi's rule. Classrooms relearn the country's past with Oden restored to its center, while the Nine Red Scabbards plan a shrine for Oden and burials in Ringo for Yasuie, Ashura, and Izou. Because Momonosuke honored Luffy's wish to stay anonymous, the public credits their savior simply as the warrior Joy Boy, ranking his deed against Kaidou beside the feats of the swordsman Ryuma.

Luffy and Zoro finally stir awake and join the alliance in the bathhouse to revel. Elsewhere, Drake and Hawkins, both badly wounded in the raid, share a few last words before Hawkins dies of his injuries. Over at Tokage Port, Apoo briefs Kid and Law on their revised bounties and on who now fills the ranks of the Emperors following the collapse of Kaidou and Big Mom. Acting on orders from Sakazuki, Ryokugyu meanwhile soars toward Wano under his own power.

The anime assigns the hijacker's voice to Ryokugyu's actor, although the manga never names who broke into the call. Several beats are exclusive here: Zunesha leaving Wano, Hawkins crumpling to the ground, Chopper reassuring the others that the sleeping pair will recover, and Hiyori drop-kicking the now-adult Momonosuke. The episode also stretches out the Flower Capital festivities, the new history lesson, Kin'emon's talk with Marco in Ringo, and Ryokugyu's flight. Drake even references an earlier anime-only line by asking Hawkins whether the one-percent survival odds had not been about him after all.
