Wano's arc ends here. The crew claims the land as a territory and sets sail, Momonosuke sprints down to the beach for a tearful parting, and a stage retelling of the Onigashima raid turns the outlaws who saved the country into living legend.
Now that Orochi has fallen and Kaidou is beaten, Wano starts to prosper, and an Onigashima retelling unfolds onstage before a captivated crowd. Far from the theater, Momonosuke, Kin'emon, and Yamato sprint for Tokage Port to catch the crew before it leaves. During the dash, Yamato confides to Momonosuke that he means to stay in Wano, following Oden's path by wandering the country first before he ever sets out for the wider seas. Momonosuke, for his part, feels betrayed that Luffy would vanish without a parting word after everything they faced together, and Kin'emon nurses the same hurt.
At the harbor, Luffy swaps gruff farewells with Law and Kid as the Heart and Kid crews push off toward their chosen routes. Then Momonosuke bursts onto the sand in tears, pleading with the Straw Hats to stay. Luffy presses a Straw Hat Jolly Roger into the young shogun's hands as a mark of their bond, names him a brother, and swears to come back for him, Kin'emon, and Yamato if they ever take up the pirate life. The crew at last departs for Hakumai's official lift port. When Kid jeers at them for choosing the safe passage, Luffy and Law rise to the taunt and turn instead toward the waterfalls.

The narrator also relays Hiyori's parting words to the dying former shogun about black charcoal earning the Kurozumi name only by burning. The anime lengthens the stage performance, the dockside goodbye, and the waterfall race over the allied crews' objections.
