Finding Merry wounded, Kaya at last grasps what her butler truly is. On the coast, Jango tries hypnosis to strengthen his crew, and once that collapses he turns to a feline pair of fighters held in reserve to corner Zoro.
The village children attempt to reach Kaya's estate to check on her, only to find Usopp's secret entrance sealed and the gates impossible to climb. Within the house, Kaya leaves her room and comes upon a wounded Merry sprawled on the floor. He confirms that every warning Usopp gave was real and that Klahadore is in fact a pirate scheming to kill Kaya and claim her inheritance.
Down at the shore, the invaders find they cannot push past Luffy and Zoro, so Jango places his men under hypnosis to swell their strength. The newly entranced fighters grow powerful enough to break cliffs with one punch, yet Jango unintentionally sweeps Luffy into the spell as well. The enhanced captain routs the Black Cat crew and wrenches the bow off their ship before Jango hypnotizes him into sleep; as Luffy drops, the falling bow comes down and crushes the enemy pirates underneath.
With no options left, Jango calls upon the two brothers who had been minding the ship, Sham and Buchi of the Nyaban duo. They put on an act of weakness and cowardice to throw Zoro off, and Sham steals two of his blades, leaving the swordsman to defend himself with only one. Usopp fires his slingshot at the pair but hits Zoro instead, giving them the opening to slash his chest. Nami tries to grab the stolen swords back and is cut across the shoulder by Jango's chakram. Then Kuro himself walks onto the coast, infuriating his own Black Cat Pirates, who recoil as he arrives furious over how far the operation has fallen behind.
This installment marks the debut of the two brothers and a cluster of techniques, among them Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Gatling, Sham's Neko Baba and Nekoze, Buchi's Cat the Funjyatta, and the combined Neko-Yanagi Daikoshin. It belongs to the Syrup Village Arc and aired in English regions as The Black Cat Pirates.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
Sham and Buchi are the Nyaban Brothers, a cat themed pair of fighters that Jango calls in as a last resort against Zoro. They debut in this episode, putting on an act of weakness and cowardice to catch him off guard.
Sham tricks Zoro by pretending to be weak, then steals two of his three swords, leaving him to fight with only one blade. Usopp's slingshot then accidentally hits Zoro instead of the brothers, giving Sham and Buchi an opening to slash his chest.
Jango's hypnosis meant to strengthen his own crew accidentally sweeps up Luffy as well, making him powerful enough to break cliffs with a single punch. The empowered Luffy routs the Black Cat Pirates and tears the bow off their ship, which crushes them after Jango hypnotizes him to sleep.
Kaya finds her butler Merry wounded and he confirms that every warning Usopp gave was true. Merry reveals that Klahadore is actually a pirate plotting to kill Kaya and take her inheritance.
Nami tries to grab back the swords Sham stole from Zoro during the fight on the shore. Jango cuts her across the shoulder with his chakram as she attempts to retrieve them.
