Bellamy laughs off Luffy's demand to return the gold, doubting he can even throw a punch, and Sarquiss insists the new 100,000,000 berry poster must be a forgery. Bellamy tears off the roof and springs at Luffy with Spring Snipe, then bounces between buildings using Spring Hopper while mocking dream-chasing pirates. Recalling the jab about whether he knows how to swing, Luffy cracks his knuckles and drives a single downward punch that hammers Bellamy through the boardwalk, leaving a fist-shaped dent in his skull. With his rival's blood on his hand, Luffy reclaims the gold and the terrified townsfolk scatter once they grasp that the bounties are genuine.

Dracule Mihawk, drifting at sea, is pleased that Luffy and Zoro can now rattle the World Government after toppling Crocodile. At Mary Geoise the Five Elders learn that Red Hair is trying to reach Whitebeard by messenger and judge the meeting too dangerous, ordering a swift replacement for Crocodile among the Warlords. Donquixote Doflamingo and Bartholomew Kuma arrive first, Doflamingo using his Ito Ito no Mi to force two bored Marines to fight until Sengoku stops him, and Mihawk soon joins as a third. Laffitte then dances in to nominate his own captain. Aboard his ship Whitebeard rips up Shanks' letter, telling the messenger Rockstar that Shanks should come in person and bring good liquor. Luffy, fist still bloodied, points to the sky as his destination, and Blackbeard, declaring he hunts only the hundred-million man, leaves Mock Town with his crew.

This Jaya Arc episode debuts a wave of major figures including the Five Elders, Sengoku, Tsuru, Doflamingo, Kuma, Whitebeard, Marco, Jozu, Rockstar, and Laffitte, along with the Ito Ito no Mi and Yukiryu Island. Several manga details were altered, with Tsuru's lines reassigned to Mozambia, only two Elders speaking rather than all, Kuma kept silent until the Thriller Bark Arc, and Marco and Jozu drawn with color schemes differing from their later appearances.
