Summary

Usopp's young followers shepherd Kaya through the woods, dodging Jango while Zoro and Usopp search for the group. Kaya's illness flares and she can no longer keep running. The children stage a fake surrender, then spring weapons and a falling log on Jango, but he shrugs off every blow unhurt. With the children's lives threatened, Kaya consents to sign the will as the plot intended, on the condition that the kids be left alone. Before Jango can finish her off, Zoro and Usopp finally track her down and step in to defend her.

Key Events

At the northern coast, Kuro lays bare his plan to wipe out his entire crew so none can ever expose his past. His usual Nukiashi techniques cannot land against Luffy, so he resorts to Shakushi, a wild high-speed assault that slashes everything and everyone in range while making him invisible to his target. Though Luffy is his sole intended opponent, the indiscriminate technique tears through his own crewmates and leaves them badly wounded. Luffy is hurt as well, struggling to counter an ability he cannot even see.

Notes

This episode marks an appearance by the recurring background character Pandaman and debuts Kuro's Shakushi technique. In the 4Kids dub, Jango's lines were altered to make his Chakram seem to act on its own against Kaya, a change made to dodge the reference to Kaya threatening suicide if he kept attacking the Usopp Pirates.
