Free From the Spell! The Great Warrior Sheds Tears

Still convinced the earthquake was divine punishment, the Shandia move to execute Noland's caged crew until Seto blocks their path in shame. In the forest, a second python, believed to be Kashigami's son, attacks the trapped Noland, and Kalgara kills it on reflex. Anguished yet desperate, Kalgara finally accepts the conine cure, and it heals the village. The two men become inseparable, and Kalgara leads Noland into the golden ruins of Shandora, revealing the Poneglyph stone his people guard and the meaning of the Fire of Shandora. Then, abruptly, the villagers turn cold and refuse to speak to the crew, branding them killers of gods.

Kalgara confesses that Mousse is his own daughter, whom his faith nearly let die. Noland reveals that Tree Fever struck his homeland sixty years earlier and that conine extracted from the Kona Tree is the cure. The serpent attacks, Kalgara strikes it down, and the cure is administered to general relief. Kalgara shows Noland the gilded city, explains that the bell guides ancestral souls home, and lets the crew take any treasure except the belfry. The crew discovers an Eternal Pose and a map showing the skull-shaped island. Soon after, the villagers shun the crew, the bell goes silent, and a sulking Kalgara vows to kill Noland on sight.

This is the first One Piece episode in which the Straw Hat Pirates do not appear at all, not even in recap or flashback. The pumpkin-like fruit the crew grows is presented as an ancestor of the Conasshu seen in Episode 154. The story adapts chapters 289 through 291 and introduces Kashigami's Child.
