Summary

Zeff mocks Krieg for how quickly his Grand Line venture fell apart. Krieg recognizes the old cook as a retired pirate once feared for fighting solely with his legs, a career he gave up after losing a leg. Convinced he only lacked the right knowledge, Krieg demands Zeff's old logbook to chart a return to the sea, then hauls the gathered food back to his crew while ordering the restaurant staff to clear out.

Key Events

Gin offers an apology on his captain's behalf, blind to Krieg's plan to betray the Baratie, and recounts how a lone man wrecked their entire fleet. Of fifty ships and five thousand men, only the hundred-strong flagship endured, saved partly by a storm that swept it back to East Blue. Krieg announces he will scrap that flagship, take the Baratie, and sail again, gunning down a crewmate who dares object. Before the assault can begin, the ship is cleaved clean in half by a single stroke, revealing that Hawk-Eyes trailed them to the floating restaurant. As the vessel sinks and its crew spills into the water, Johnny and Yosaku surface with the news that Nami has abandoned the Straw Hats and made off with the Going Merry.
