We Will Definitely Meet Again!! Brook and the Cape of the Promise

Luffy, Usopp, Sanji, and Zoro recount for the others how they first crossed paths with Laboon at the dawn of their journey, while Brook, locked in combat with Ryuma, holds fast to his promise of returning to that very whale. Stirred by the link, Luffy declares he wants Brook with them, and the Straw Hats steel themselves to hit back at Thriller Bark and reclaim all that was taken from them.

Sanji walks the crew through how the whale once swallowed them whole, how they came upon Crocus inside it, and how the creature went on waiting for companions who never came home. Zoro realizes that one of those companions is Brook himself. On the battlefield Brook strains against an opponent whose skills mirror his own, and after Ryuma laughingly shears off his afro, the musician climbs back to his feet, his thoughts on Laboon and on his dread of how the whale will take his skeletal shape. A memory surfaces of Brook playing music for the infant Laboon. Aboard the Sunny, Franky sobs at the tale, Luffy locks in on signing Brook as musician, and Sanji resolves to halt Nami's wedding as the crew arms for the clash.

A sizable stretch of the episode recycles older footage taken from Episode 62. On the To Be Continued card, a pop-up bit shows Usopp angling to dodge another zombie fight before a furious Sanji, bent on stopping Absalom's rushed wedding to Nami, barks at him to fall in line. The entry belongs to the Thriller Bark Arc and carries a rating of 8.4, with Robin and Chopper on the eyecatcher.
