No Price Too High! Serious Hannyabal!

Hannyabal throws himself in the escapees' path to stop Luffy, but their duel is cut short when Blackbeard arrives and scatters them both. Luffy realizes this is the same man he once met casually in Jaya, now revealed as a vicious monster. Learning how Ace was beaten and handed over to the Marines sends Luffy into a blind rage. Burning for revenge, he switches into Gear 2 and slams a punch into Blackbeard.

The door to Level 3 swings open to reveal Hannyabal, who declares he will never let scum sail the seas, and engages Luffy in a one-sided brawl. A Jet Gatling pounds his face, and as he lies sprawled he recalls his first day as a jailer, when the alluring pirate Olive charmed and knocked him out before Magellan imprisoned her. Hannyabal climbs back up and grabs Luffy, only to be shoved off and then flattened by the entrance of Marshall D. Teach. Jinbe names the newcomer as Blackbeard, and Luffy remembers Ace vowing to hunt the man down. Teach taunts that without Ace, Luffy would be the one facing execution, igniting the captain's wrath. Vowing to kill him, Luffy enters Gear 2 and connects with a Jet Pistol.

This Impel Down arc episode adapts pages eight to nineteen of Chapter 543 and pages two to four of Chapter 544, debuts Olive, and introduces Hannyabal's Hannya Carnival: Shonetsu Jigoku Guruma. In the flashback Hannyabal is knocked out before he can strip Olive, ending up on the floor in elephant-themed pants Oda drew for SBS Volume 57. The installment lands exactly 300 episodes after Blackbeard's first appearance in Episode 146 and stages their first reunion.
