Crowned queen of the Kamabakka Kingdom and hailed as the Miracle Person and Okama King, Ivankov ranks among the Revolutionary Army's founders and commands its G Army across the Grand Line. Once a World Noble slave, he turned ally to Luffy through the Impel Down and Marineford arcs.
Towering and oddly proportioned, Ivankov carries an enormous head topped by an indigo afro so vast it can conceal a person within it, framed by long lashes and a chin shaped like an arrowhead. A personal Jolly Roger sits inked beneath his chest. His okama wardrobe runs to a reddish-purple high-collared leotard cut deep at the neck, paired with matching gloves, boots, a pearl necklace, a net cape, and net leggings, all worn under heavy yet careful makeup; a queen's crown stacked beneath a king's marks his rule over Newkama Land. Injecting his own Emporio Female Hormones lets him shift into a curvier, more realistically shaped woman who remains far taller than figures like the officer Sadi. Flashbacks show him cloaked as a young revolutionary and, at fifteen as a slave, bare of makeup in a floral sleeveless top and star-print speedo. Having been enslaved by the World Nobles, he should carry the Flying Dragon's Hoof brand somewhere on his frame, though where it sits is never shown. In the anime his voice stays male while in female form, shifting only slightly.
An effeminate, cross-dressing okama, Ivankov tacks buru onto his sentences, swaps the w in watashi and anata for a v, and likes to blurt the reverse of whatever he just claimed as a running joke. Theatrical even in his youth, he was already aware then of the World Government's deceit, and his cry for freedom rallied fellow slaves, a young Bartholomew Kuma among them, against a genocidal hunt staged by their masters. Friendship and bonds matter to him above all, and he will gamble his life to help comrades, which is why he saved Luffy and Bentham once moved by Luffy's selflessness. He preaches that anyone may live as man, woman, or okama, voicing it loudly and shrugging off objections. By his own admission he is not so saintly as to rescue just anyone, but words of hope can change his mind; he scorns those who lean on others for survival. Perceptive enough to read a person's health at a glance, he also gauges the toll his fruit takes and noticed Dragon's habit of gazing toward the East Blue. Once he realized that the boy was Dragon's own child, he committed to helping rescue Ace, calling it a duty to his compatriot. He bristles at anyone who claims to have forgotten his unforgettable face, addresses people by name suffixed with "boy," laughs with a trademark "Hee-Haw," and chuckles "Mmmfufufu."
Born on the Grand Line, Ivankov was enslaved by the World Nobles and, thirty-eight years before the present, taken with Ginny toward God Valley's Native Hunting Competition; there the pair found a battered young Kuma and led a mass breakout, using the contest's Devil Fruit prizes so that Kuma, after eating the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, freed roughly five hundred captives. He later joined the Marine deserter Monkey D. Dragon to build the Freedom Fighters, liberated the Sorbet Kingdom, recruited Kuma and Ginny, and helped shape the Revolutionary Army before taking charge of its G Army. Imprisoned in Impel Down's Level 5 while ruling the hidden Okama Paradise at Level 5.5, he escaped beside Luffy, fought at Marineford during the Summit War, and afterward returned to his throne at Kamabakka Kingdom, opening Momoiro Island to the Revolutionaries once Baltigo fell. Regarded as the greatest okama alive, he rules that nation much as Boa Hancock rules Amazon Lily, and his leadership once united the unruly inmates of Newkama Land. Despite his comic look he is a formidable fighter, trading blows on even footing with the transformed Pacifista Kuma and downing Sanji without visible harm. His thick cosmetic layer forms a kind of mask; in the anime it warded the magma of Akainu and the eroding poison of Magellan from his features, though the magma still left him to faint afterward. He grasps something of Haki, having kept his wits while sprinting beside Luffy through a wave of Supreme King Haki. Enormous strength lets him lift a guard one-handed and boot Kuma away without straining his leg, while his speed spawns afterimages for the Galaxy Wink, sharpened in his woman form's acrobatics. A master of Newkama Kenpo and an expert wrestler, he bested chief guard Sadi unharmed and wounded Magellan before the poison took him. His Paramecia-type Horu Horu no Mi lets him brew hormones that remodel a body from within, altering sex, growth, pigment, stamina, and emotion; he turns his fingers into syringes to deliver them. Healing hormones can drag someone back from poison or disease, but only the strong-willed endure the agonizing, days-long process, which also shortens their lifespan.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
Emporio Ivankov is originally male, though he can inject his own Emporio Female Hormones to transform into a curvier, more feminine form while remaining much taller than most women.
Emporio Ivankov is not a villain; he is a founding member of the Revolutionary Army and became a firm ally to Luffy during the Impel Down breakout and the Marineford war.
Emporio Ivankov escaped Impel Down alongside Luffy, fought in the Summit War at Marineford, and afterward returned to rule as queen of the Kamabakka Kingdom, later opening Momoiro Island to the Revolutionaries.
Emporio Ivankov's Devil Fruit is the Horu Horu no Mi, a Paramecia-type power that lets him brew hormones and inject them through his fingers to alter a person's sex, growth, pigment, stamina, or emotions.
