In this recut covering the Fish-Man Island Saga, the crew, down three members, survives a giant anglerfish and a sea monster loosed by a man calling himself Vander Decken. Their absent crewmates return atop the tamed Kraken, carrying them to Fish-Man Island, where fish-men confront them.
Descending farther into the ocean while three of their crew are missing, the remaining pirates nearly end up swallowed by a huge anglerfish and then mashed by a sea monster. The assault is commanded by a figure who has taken on the name of the legendary pirate Vander Decken. Arriving just in time, the three absent members rescue the rest, having brought the Kraken to heel, and the reunited crew at last reaches Fish-Man Island. Outside its gates, a group of fish-men squares off against them.
The crew's narrow escape from the anglerfish and from the monster Wadatsumi very nearly halts the dive before it can go on. Rescue arrives with the return of the missing members, who throw the freshly subdued Kraken into the clash. Once the danger passes, the group finishes its descent to the underwater kingdom, only for hostile fish-men to greet them at the entrance.
This installment ranks as the fifth entry of the recut that condenses the Fish-Man Island Saga into edited form. It assembles its footage from part of Episode 525, the entirety of Episode 526, and a portion of Episode 527 as originally broadcast. The opening uses the Straw Hat Pirates version of We Go!, and the closing theme is Sailing.

Episode 5 (Special Edited Version) is a recut installment that condenses the Fish-Man Island Saga, assembling footage from part of Episode 525, the entirety of Episode 526, and part of Episode 527 into a single edited episode.
The Straw Hats are attacked by a giant anglerfish and the sea monster Wadatsumi, both unleashed by a man calling himself Vander Decken, later identified as Vander Decken IX.
Episode 526 forms the core of this recut: the crew, down three members, nearly gets swallowed by a giant anglerfish and mashed by the sea monster Wadatsumi under Vander Decken IX's assault, before their missing crewmates return riding a tamed Kraken to rescue them.
The three absent Straw Hats members arrive just in time to save the rest, having tamed the Kraken and thrown it into the fight against Vander Decken's monster.
After surviving the attack and completing their descent, the reunited Straw Hat crew reaches Fish-Man Island, only to be confronted outside its gates by a group of hostile fish-men.
