Appearance

Few fish-men rival Wadatsumi in scale; he matches the head of the kraken Surume and dwarfs even the giant Shirahoshi and Megalo into ordinary proportions. A huge, round head and chest sit atop comparatively small arms and legs, and his hands are webbed. His broad face carries child-like eyes, light stubble on the chin, and a wide mouth crowded with massive, well-spaced round teeth. Dark hair frames his head, rising into an upward point and spilling onto his shoulders, while the rest of his body is notably hairy.

For clothing he wears extremely baggy trousers with a dark cloth knotted at the waist and goes about barefoot. His silhouette, bulk, and eyes echo those of Sanjuan Wolf so strongly that Usopp mistook him for an Umibozu, an insult the New Fish-Man crew likewise hurled his way.

Personality

Obedient and devoted, Wadatsumi once obeyed Decken's orders without question. For all his size, his temperament is innocent, matched in the anime by a markedly childish voice. He is naive enough to weep when he believed Decken had cast him aside, yet to recover the moment he was tricked into thinking he had misheard. Unlike the spite of his old crew, he is gentle by nature, having leveled two towns purely through carelessness and apologized for it with genuine remorse before joining the locals in celebration. He later apologized to Luffy's crew for the grief he had caused them back at Fish-Man Island, which suggests Decken simply exploited his trusting heart.

Abilities

His enormous bulk combined with his fish-man heritage makes Wadatsumi tremendously strong; a single unintended punch hurt Ankoro, a fish whose body dwarfs the Thousand Sunny several times over, and he can lift, carry, and hurl whole buildings. He helped Jinbe haul a massive Poneglyph, and merely erupting from the sea amid the Big Mom Pirates' fleet sent several ships flying. As a fish-man he breathes underwater and endures the pressure of the deepest depths, and being a tiger blowfish he can inflate himself to swell his already vast frame. After swallowing an Energy Steroid his strength rose further, letting him fell Surume in one blow, and he weathered heavy hits from Jinbe and Sanji with only mild complaint. His signature Mega Nyudo sees him gulp down air and balloon his stomach to crushing size, rolling across the battlefield to flatten everything in reach.
