Summary

Mysterious fish-men riding a sea-beast confront the crew, and one of them, Hammond, hurls insults at Surume for ferrying the so-called sinful humans. Frightened, Surume abandons the Sunny, after which Hammond lists the crew's feats, beating Arlong, protecting Hachi, and striking a World Noble, then puts a choice to them, death or joining the ranks of the New Fish-Man Pirates. Luffy refuses outright and pulls a face at him. Nami orders Franky to unleash a Coup de Burst at full power, letting the ship rocket toward Fish-Man Island and outrun their pursuers. The crew launches and clears two bubbles, but the second holds water, and its fierce currents tear the Straw Hats apart from one another and the Sunny.

Key Events

Luffy later comes to surrounded by Sanji, Usopp, Chopper, and a cluster of small mermaids, and the group celebrates before reuniting with Camie after two years apart. Camie, who had expected them a month later, hands out soup, then panics on realizing it has gone cold. The Medaka Mermaid Quintuplets return everyone's dried clothes and explain the group is in the girls' dorm of the Mermaid Cove, exciting Sanji. Carried by sea turtle toward an upper tier of the island, Luffy asks about Hatchan and Pappag; per Camie, Hatchan is recovering over in the Fish-Man District, while Pappag now lives in a grand mansion as a celebrated designer. The crew reaches an air-filled stretch and meets Ishilly and other mermaids lounging there, and Sanji weeps that his All Blue has at last been found. Meanwhile, Hammond and his comrades report the landing to their leader, who orders the Straw Hats brought to him at once.

Notes

The character Kasagoba is renamed Kasagon for the anime. As often happens, the upcoming episode's teaser is trimmed below its normal runtime. During the sea turtle ride, the footwear worn by Luffy and Usopp sometimes vanishes. After Camie leads the four to the Mermaid Cove, the manga scene of two mermaids finding the sealed barrel holding Caribou is omitted.
