The Ryugu Palace in Shock! The Kidnapping of Shirahoshi

Tucked inside Megalo, Shirahoshi is led from her tower by Luffy as the Minister of the Right, together with Brook, calls after them to halt. The instant the pair notice the princess is gone, human pirates pounce and threaten them into revealing the switch for the palace gates. Rewinding by several hours, the scene shifts into the Fish-Man District, where Decken is walking the humans through the workings of his Mato Mato curse, until Hatchan cuts in, demanding everyone abandon the madness and warning that the Energy Steroids will ruin their bodies.

Hody refuses to drop his ambition of wiping out humankind in Arlong's name. Hatchan reminds him that Arlong already lost and challenges why Hyouzou and Decken now serve a man they once kept apart from. Hyouzou admits he is in it for the money, while Decken claims he obeys no master. After Hatchan confesses that Luffy once called him a friend and spared his life, a disgusted Hody orders Decken to mark and stab him. Pierced by a barrage of arrows as he flees through the water, Hatchan is later found wounded on the shore by Sanji and Chopper, gasping out a warning before he faints. Far away at the Sea Forest, Jinbe speaks before the grave of Queen Otohime.

An added sequence places Franky in a taxi traveling alongside Den. In the source manga, Decken only began explaining his powers after his thrown knife had already struck Hatchan, and the launching of the human pirates into the palace is staged on screen here. The Fish-Man District flashback runs ahead of Sanji and Chopper discovering Hatchan, the reverse of the manga sequence. Houses bear name signs reading Pearl, Hotate, and Kurageya, with Pearl misprinted as Perl. The installment is the first to feature Franky's post-timeskip eyecatcher. It also holds the distinction of being the lone episode carrying a TV-Y7-FV rating without a 4Kids dub.
