The 810th One Piece episode splits between Luffy tearing through Big Mom's enraged army outside Sweet City and Sanji, cornered in Pudding's room, choosing to accept the wedding so his friends stay safe.
Refusing to retreat, Luffy orders Nami and Kingbaum away and throws himself at the furious horde Big Mom has sent after him. Though his body is already wrecked, he switches into Gear 2 and carves through ranks of Chess Soldiers, scattering them with bursts of inflated air and a self made whirlwind. The watching Nami and Kingbaum are both stunned and unnerved by what he can still pull off.
Inside the Whole Cake Chateau, Pudding admits to Sanji that her plan to slip the Straw Hats ashore and reunite him with them fell apart. Sanji answers that reaching the coast was never an option for him, since it would have endangered his crew and cost him his hands. He removes his mask to show the bruises his own relatives left on him, the cruelty that drove him from the family more than a decade earlier. With those he treats as true family now under threat, he has no exit, and he tells Pudding he will wed her the next day and try to build something out of it.
Opera snares Luffy with scalding cream tentacles, and Bobbin lulls him to sleep before drawing his sword, only for Nami and Kingbaum to return and break up the ambush. The pair come back because Nami's Vivre Card compels Kingbaum, which the army reads as outright mutiny. Counter, Cadenza, and Cabaletta coat their arms in Armament Haki and trade blows with Luffy evenly until Opera's cream floods over him again and his brothers hurl him away. In the Mirro-World, Randolph overwhelms the shackled Carrot, but Chopper steps in, blocks the strike, and flings the rabbit homie upward, ending that bout. Nami then channels the storm clouds overhead through a fresh Weather Egg and unleashes a torrent of purple lightning that wipes out every soldier in view, reigniting Luffy's resolve to hold his ground for Sanji.
The opening sequence swaps in footage of Sanji and Luffy's earlier clash on Sanji's prince cape. The anime stretches the enraged army encounter well past the manga, adding Cabaletta as the first attacker, an earlier outing for Opera's Cream Monster, Bobbin's hypnosis countered by Nami's Gust Sword, and Nami realizing the Chess Soldiers are homies. A bout between Chopper and Carrot against Brulee and Randolph is also inserted. The episode marks the debut of the Kuri Kuri no Mi and Opera's Cream Monster technique.
