Bliking Pirates

Captained by Wapol, the Bliking Pirates were a band of diehard followers who escaped Drum Island alongside him when Blackbeard's crew stormed the kingdom. Their flag reflects their leader from every angle: a metal-jawed skull licking its lips beneath an oversized crown, nodding to Wapol's appliance-like mouth, his bottomless appetite, and his royal past. The crew sailed aboard the submersible vessel that gave them their name.

Standing as the chief threat of the Drum Island Arc, the crew was no match for serious fighters, yet Wapol and his cabinet had once held an entire nation in their grip. Flashbacks show Wapol crushing Dalton in his so-called ultimate form, a transformation he achieves by devouring the weapons of Drum Castle. He never got to deploy it against the Straw Hats, since Nami swiped the armory key from him. When the band ambushed Luffy's crew at sea, Wapol tried to bite Luffy and was simply knocked into the water, forcing a hasty retreat.

Wapol ruled Drum through fear, launching a doctor purge so the sick would have to beg him for care, and keeping only his handpicked Isshi-20 physicians. After Luffy's punch flung him to a distant island, Wapol turned scrap into toys, struck it rich as a toy company executive, married a beauty queen, and eventually founded a new realm of his own. The non-canon film Episode of Chopper adds Musshuru, a far deadlier foe whose poisonous spores threatened the whole island before Luffy's Gear 2 brought him down.
