Bluejam Pirates

Answering to their captain Bluejam, this crew claimed the trash field of Gray Terminal beside the Goa Kingdom as its center of operations. Among every documented group so far, they hold the smallest confirmed combined reward, a mere 17,700,000 Berries shared between Bluejam and his man Porchemy.

Their vessel bore the name Blood Batako. Rather than sinking in combat, the ship burned away in the fire the crew had itself kindled across the slum, destroyed alongside the refuse it sat among.

These pirates were no match for the rivals a grown Luffy would one day meet, yet they possessed enough force to pin down him, Ace, and Sabo back when the trio were merely children, and even then the boys fought well for their years. Money and influence bought this crew's services, and that willingness to be hired ultimately doomed them.

Their fatal contract came from the Goa Kingdom's royals, who paid the pirates to burn Gray Terminal clean so the district might impress the visiting World Nobles. Bluejam signed on believing his men would be raised to noble rank, and so they loaded the dump with fuel and explosives. That promise proved hollow. Once the blaze took hold, the nobles barred the pirates from the Great Gates and left them behind as expendable scapegoats to burn with everyone else.

Leadership rested with Bluejam, a cruel and grasping figure who would incinerate an entire district for the chance to climb above his birth. Under him served Porchemy, dispatched to hunt the boys after Ace and Sabo swiped money from the crew. Porchemy seized Luffy by mistake, and the child endured a beating rather than surrender the treasure's hiding place. Ace and Sabo then arrived, thrashed Porchemy, and freed Luffy, after which Bluejam executed his own subordinate for the disgrace. In their final stand, the pirates demanded that the two boys give up where the loot lay so the pair could perish alongside it, only to be leveled when Ace let loose a sudden surge of Conqueror's Haki. As Bluejam lunged to finish Ace off, Curly Dadan, the boys' foster guardian, cut him off, and she and Ace fought the captain down together.
