Cook Pirates

The Cook Pirates answered to Red-Leg Zeff and roamed aboard a vessel called the Cooking George. Their flag swapped the usual crossbones for a knife and fork beneath a duck in a chef's hat. One iron principle governed the crew: they refused to rob anyone of food under any circumstance, and Zeff would savagely kick any man who broke that code. Where the rest of the band scoffed at the legend of All Blue, the captain alone held faith in it.

As a raiding crew they hunted on the seas, but their cook's creed set them apart from typical pirates. The defining moment of their voyages came when they attacked the cruise ship Orbit. Victory slipped away instantly as a ferocious storm tore through and destroyed both the Orbit and the Cook Pirates themselves, ending the crew in a single catastrophe.

Zeff stands as the only firmly established member, with Fasti appearing solely in non-canon video game material. The crew had formed more than twenty-two years before the present, around the time Zeff read of Shiki breaking out of Impel Down. Roughly twelve years prior, they spent a full year crossing the Grand Line, where Zeff's dream of finding All Blue took hold even as his men dismissed it. After the storm claimed everyone else, Zeff and the young Sanji survived, and Zeff went on to fulfill his vow of opening a sea-going restaurant, the Baratie.
