Captained by Karma, this band sails under a Jolly Roger built around a grinning purple octopus. Before Whitebeard's death the crew counted itself among his subordinate outfits, a status that placed them within the vast family the Emperor cherished.
Role
Strong enough to endure the deadly waters of the New World and carve out a name there, the crew nonetheless stood no real chance against the Whitebeard Pirates they later allied with. Their captain wields a blade with skill, having once traded blows with Kozuki Oden, though Whitebeard put him down with ease. When the call came to rescue Portgas D. Ace from execution, the Takotopus Pirates joined the forty-three allied crews sailing into the showdown that became the Summit War at Marineford.
