Overview

This fleet gathers fifty-six vessels beneath the command of Orlumbus and borrows its name from the flagship, the Yonta Maria. Once the Donquixote Pirates were beaten, the flagship and every ship trailing it enrolled as the seventh unit within the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. With 4,300 sailors aboard, this is the biggest of the allied divisions, and the armada is also a lead subject of the cover-page serial that follows the self-styled fleet's adventures.

Role

Very little is on record about how the armada fares in battle, though its commander proved capable by winning bouts inside the Corrida Colosseum and downing Agyo. So notorious is the fleet that sending it to the bottom would earn any attacker a lasting reputation. Its most remarkable feature is logistical rather than martial. Anchored in a single line off an island's outer edge, the ships extend gangplanks that join into one long span stretching five kilometers, and it was that improvised bridge which let a crowd of pirates evade capture by the Marines and Admiral Fujitora.

Notable Members

The fleet's admiral, Orlumbus, moored his ships beside Dressrosa in pursuit of one prize, a Devil Fruit called the Mera Mera no Mi. He later offered all 4,300 of his followers to Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy would not shoulder command of so vast a force, yet Orlumbus and the remaining representatives pledged their loyalty anyway and merged into the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. The armada's craft come in three tiers: the flagship Yonta Maria, five mid-sized Santa Marias, and fifty smaller Nita Marias, a single one of them later gifted onward to a group known as XXX Gym Martial Arts Alliance.
