Summary

Luffy rouses for a heartbeat, then sinks back into sleep. Trying to steal away from the Straw Hats, Mr. 8 and Miss Wednesday fall under the gaze of Mr. 13 along with Miss Friday, then freeze when two newcomers level guns and order them to stop. The pair, Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine, call for an identification. From a perch above, unseen, Zoro takes in the scene as the officer agents announce that the woman called Miss Wednesday is in truth Arabasta's princess, Nefertari Vivi, while her companion Mr. 8 is none other than her retainer Igaram.

Mr. 9 foolishly drops to a bow before Vivi, drawing a sharp rebuke, while Zoro scoops up the sleeping Luffy and tears off. The arrivals state plainly that they have come to kill the two who uncovered their boss's identity. Mr. 9 plants himself before Vivi and is blown back by one of Mr. 5's explosives. As Vivi flees astride Karoo, Nami strolls into view and coolly floats an offer to save the princess for the right sum.

Key Events

The chapter brings Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine onto the stage as the new menace at Whisky Peak. Beneath their code names the two traitors are unmasked: the so-called Mr. 8 turns out to be Igaram, and his partner Miss Wednesday is Nefertari Vivi, both of them natives of Arabasta who had been planted inside Baroque Works as undercover spies. Mr. 9 lays down his life to cover Vivi's flight, and at the very end Nami appears, demanding one billion Berries to rescue the princess and proving she has not fallen for the organization's ploy.

Notes

The cover advances the Diary of Koby-Meppo series, Vol. 23, captioned with a countdown of five seconds before Garp begins his speech, as Koby and Helmeppo kneel in tears while Vice-Admiral Garp strides toward them. Set in the Whisky Peak Arc, the chapter also shows that Mr. 5's explosive power reaches even a flicked, detonating booger, which Zoro pauses to remark upon.
