Summary

Each time Foxy floors him, Luffy hauls himself upright once more, and his refusal to quit becomes, in Itomimizu's tearful words, exactly the kind of grit a Davy Back contest is meant to draw out. The watching crowd roars for the captain, and even Foxy's own crew finds itself rooting for the outsider, which prompts an irritated Foxy to bark at them to switch their support back to him.

Vowing that this round will finish things, Foxy snares the fleeing Luffy with a Noro Noro Beam Sword and rolls into his signature finisher. He slows a cannonball first, then mounts the Foxy Fighter and rides the borrowed speed straight into his target. Sanji yells for Luffy to bolt the instant the slowing wears off, but the captain shakes free a beat too late and eats the full charge, the glider slamming home as Foxy calls the match settled.

To everyone's shock, Luffy stands yet again and claims he will be the one to win. Scoffing, Foxy answers with Megaton Nine-Tail, and Luffy fires back a Gomu Gomu Gatling, the two trading a frenzied barrage. When Foxy attempts one more slowing beam, both men suddenly seize up, except Luffy keeps moving. He produces a sliver of mirror that lodged in his hair back in Foxy's quarters, having reflected the beam onto its own caster. With Foxy frozen, a Gomu Gomu Flail launches him away, and his failure to recover inside ten seconds hands Luffy the victory.
