Chapter 468

Hogback taunts Robin and Chopper for being held at bay by their own comrades, the zombified shadows of Sanji and Zoro. He insists the zombies retain no memory of being Straw Hats and obey only his commands, then orders Cindry to finish the pair. Chopper, reverting to Brain Point, confesses how deeply he once admired Hogback for what he called the rebirth of the dead, before declaring he no longer regards the man as a doctor at all.

Hogback recounts his past as a celebrated prodigy who tired of his own brilliance, then shares his history with Cindry, a beloved actress who once mended his coat but rejected his proposal in favor of her fiance. Her sudden death broke him and drove him from medicine, until Moria approached and revived her on the condition that Hogback join his cause. Chopper rages that a body severed from its heart is no longer human, accusing the doctor of manufacturing monsters and leaving real people miserable.

Cindry hurls razor plates with Kakuzaratou while Chopper, in Heavy Point, tries to reach her humanity. Hogback sics Jigoro and Inuppe on the Straw Hats, but the two zombies fall to bickering over a misheard order and stop fighting anyone else. Robin seals Hogback's mouth, and when she releases it he carelessly tells Robin and Chopper as "you two" to leap from the tower, which Jigoro and Inuppe mistakenly obey, plunging out the window. Left with only Cindry, Hogback is stunned when she breaks into tears and says her body will not move.
