Titled "Sabagashira No. 1," this early chapter sees Don Krieg launch his assault on the Baratie, Luffy bargain his way out of his waiter sentence, and Sanji reveal his fearsome kicking skill for the first time.
Don Krieg resolves to seize the Baratie for himself, reasoning that a floating restaurant makes the ideal disguise for sailing the Grand Line, since no one would mistake it for a pirate ship. When a crewman dares suggest turning back, Krieg cuts him down on the spot. He also intends to study Zeff's logbook to ready his men for the perilous waters ahead. His resolve fires up the Krieg Pirates, who storm the restaurant. Luffy, honoring his agreement with Zeff, throws himself into the defense and strikes back at the attackers.
To shield their establishment, the cooks deploy a wooden platform out front so the fighting stays clear of the dining hall. Patty and Carne wheel out the Sabagashira No. 1, the fish-head prow of the Baratie rigged as a paddle craft, and use it to charge Krieg. The pirate captain shrugs the assault aside and flings the contraption back toward the chefs, but Sanji boots it away with equal ease, putting his true power on display for the first time. Earlier, Luffy strikes a deal with Zeff to be released from his year of forced waitering.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

The cover continues Buggy's Crew Adventure Chronicles at volume 13, with Buggy stunned as his rescuer Alvida reveals she is hunting Luffy. The Baratie becomes a battlefield. This is the first chapter since Usopp's debut in which he does not appear.
Chapter 53, titled Mackerel Head, has Don Krieg launch his assault on the Baratie while Luffy joins the defense and Sanji reveals his fearsome kicking skill for the first time.
Don Krieg decides to seize the floating restaurant Baratie because its disguise as a restaurant, rather than a pirate ship, makes it an ideal way to sail the dangerous Grand Line unnoticed.
The Sabagashira No. 1 is the fish-head prow of the Baratie rigged by Patty and Carne into a paddle craft, which they use to charge Don Krieg before he flings it back toward the chefs.
Sanji reveals his true power for the first time in Chapter 53 by casually kicking away the Sabagashira No. 1 after Don Krieg hurls it back at the chefs.
Earlier in Chapter 53, Luffy strikes a deal with Zeff to be released from his year of forced waitering at the Baratie in exchange for defending the restaurant against Don Krieg's crew.
