Summary

On the giant ship Noah, a human crew flees Fish-Man Island, recalling how the kraken struck them first and the New Fish-Man Pirates then seized and pressed them into service. Their captain, the South Blue pirate Gyro, tells a weeping crewman to give up on the Mermaid Cafe and be thankful they slipped away alive. Hody and his lieutenants weigh what to do about the escapees before their leader gulps down pills that bulge his muscles and alter his eyes.

At Pappag's mansion, the boastful starfish crows about his Criminal fashion label until the crew stumbles upon Nami battling a clerk over inflated prices. Owing them for their help two years back, Pappag waives every charge, and Nami, Luffy, Usopp, and Brook proceed to clear the shop of everything on its shelves. A stir outside then heralds an unexpected guest arriving from Ryugu Palace.

Key Events

The newcomer proves to be King Neptune, seated atop his whale Hoe, who alarms the townsfolk by walking right up to the pirates. After Megalo, the shark they had freed from the kraken, confirms these are the ones he sought, Neptune addresses them as Straw Hat humans and invites the crew to his palace, leaving Camie and Pappag dumbfounded.

Out at sea, Hody intercepts the fugitive vessel by himself, his wrists cuffed to show he needs no hands to crush them. Zeo lays out the drug's arithmetic: fish-men already possess ten times a human's power, each Energy Steroid doubles a user's strength while trimming years off their life, and because Hody swallowed four pills, his power now sits over a hundred and sixty times that of an ordinary man. After wrecking the ship, Hody deliberately leaves the crew breathing, ordering them returned to the surface to spread terror and announcing his aim to wrest Fish-Man Island back and establish fish-men as the ruling race.
