It's Over!!

With Kuroobi hurled into the headquarters building, Arlong stares in fury at his two beaten officers and rounds on Sanji and Zoro, insisting the fight is far from settled. Sanji reports that Luffy is in no danger of dying but still must be cut loose from the seabed, a task that means going back under while Arlong blocks the path. Out on the water, Nojiko keeps the captain's head above the surface and trades positions with a winded Genzo, both stunned that the Straw Hats have already toppled Hatchan and Kuroobi.

Elsewhere, Usopp lies in a heap, having tricked Chew with his Ketchup Star into believing the single water shot had killed him. He plans to pack himself with dirt and pass off the loss as a hard-fought defeat, but the words of his crew and the people of Cocoyasi Village gnaw at him until he can no longer stomach his own cowardice. Calling Chew back, he commits to a real fight and reignites the duel.

Sanji confirms one more dive is required to release Luffy's trapped legs. Genzo and Nojiko rotate as they work to revive the captain. The clash of the chapter is Usopp against Chew: the sniper takes heavy punishment, including a blast of Hyappatsu Mizudeppo and a felled tree that cuts him, yet he keeps maneuvering. He lures Chew with a flying rum bottle, ruptures it with Namari Boshi to drench his foe in alcohol, then lights him up with Kaen Boshi to win.

The cover continues the Diary of Koby-Meppo serial, showing Koby studying late by candlelight while Helmeppo and the rest of the unit sleep. Usopp's victory marks his coming of age as a fighter, as he resolves that pretending to be a pirate is no longer enough and that he must risk his life like his crewmates do.
