Summary

Just as Luffy starts powering up, Katakuri pins him beneath a mound of mochi, refusing to let him charge unopposed the way his careless siblings did. He converts the Mirro-World walls into mochi and buries Luffy to smother him, apologizing for the abrupt end while praising how long he held out. With his daily snack time delayed, Katakuri summons his cooks for sweets, builds a mochi shrine around himself, and orders that no one disturb or enter it. Inside, he sprawls on his back eating donuts and sipping tea, content despite his cooled black tea.

Key Events

To the cooks' shock, Luffy devours his way free of the mochi, frustrated that every solo opponent keeps relying on food. He sees through the staff's claim that Katakuri has left, sensing a powerful presence within the shrine and revealing his own Observation Haki. Ignoring their pleas, he smashes the shrine apart with an Elephant Gun and catches Katakuri feasting with his face bared. Furious at being seen, Katakuri slaughters the cooks who blurt out a remark about his mouth, then rounds on Luffy, declaring that no witness to his face may live.

Notes

The clash confirms the mochi is edible and reveals Katakuri's mouth full of fangs, debunking Brulee's claim that he never lowers his dignity. The two trade Armament Haki blows, Katakuri's clearly stronger as Luffy's hands swell from the impact. When Katakuri winds up again, Luffy ducks and lands a kick to his jaw, startled it connected. Realizing his foe is not the untouchable figure he imagined, Luffy at last activates Gear 4 and strikes with a Kong Gun. The cover shows the alliance breaking up a Longarm versus Longleg brawl.
