Summary
Luffy proposes teaming up against Kaido, but Kid turns him down, still bitter over how Hawkins and Apoo betrayed him, a betrayal he blames for Killer's ruin after a defective SMILE; he and Killer break their bonds and set off to gather their crew. In the meantime Raizo, Kawamatsu, and Hyogoro press the wary prisoners to back the alliance, and though the men balk at trusting a pirate, the three argue that pirates come in many kinds and Luffy ranks among the better ones. What finally sways the crowd is Momonosuke: seeing their lord alive, the prisoners drop to their knees, and the trio grasps that only motivation and proof had been missing.
Far off in Kuri, Ashura Doji brings Kin'emon and Inuarashi to a graveyard for the Kouzuki retainers who stormed Onigashima a decade past in revenge for their suffering under Kaido. Weeping for the fallen, he commits himself to the cause and calls his Mt. Atama Thieves to join. Outside the Flower Capital, Zoro cuts down Orochi's ninja to shield Hiyori and decides to win back Shusui from Gyukimaru, while in the capital Hawkins prepares to interrogate Law.
