Appearance

Blast is a big, middle-aged man built with muscle, his black hair spiking upward above a light beard and a pair of eyes tinted greenish yellow. Bulky armor covers him, complete with oversized shoulder guards and a cape that hangs ragged at its hem, and his name is emblazoned on both his chest and the heels of his boots. Rings mark the backs of his gauntlets, and pressing his fists together joins them into an infinity sign that fires off his teleport. His gear is visibly worn from countless fights, and he shields his eyes behind sunglasses.

A scar cuts between his brows, one he only picked up when 'God' stepped into his duel with Elder Centipede. His irises are unusual too, ringed by a wavy black line instead of a tidy circle. Eighteen years back, at his first meeting with Tatsumaki, he looked broadly the same yet younger, clean-shaven, unscarred, and free of both the sunglasses and the battle damage.

Personality

Blast keeps his personal details to himself, leaving his Hero Association Catalog entry empty, and much like Saitama he treats hero work as a mere hobby. He has an independent streak, hiding his location and status and once telling Tatsumaki to defend herself with her own power rather than count on being saved. These days he carries a loose, easygoing air, unbothered when Saitama and company handle a mysterious cube and content to walk them through what it is. He shrugs off Flash's attempt to strike him and readily offers to teleport the group somewhere safe.

For all his distance, he is not entirely cut off from his fellow heroes, recognizing Bang by his hero title and clocking Flash's precise rank the instant they meet. Real worry for the planet sits under the calm; he takes pains to hold down collateral damage while facing Garou, and before anyone can be killed he breaks up the clash pitting Sonic and Flash against the Heavenly Ninja Party, since he has no taste for needless bloodshed.

Abilities

Standing as the Hero Association's number one, Blast ranks among its most fearsome fighters, kept in reserve for moments when humanity itself hangs in the balance. He battered Elder Centipede, a Dragon-level menace, to death's door, cut down a giant monster capable of ripping through reinforced steel doors, and came out alive though gravely wounded after tangling with the being known as 'God.' By Sitch's account, his command of space and time makes him the only hero who can stand against that entity. He also matched Garou's Cosmic Fear Mode for a while, and fifteen years earlier he thrashed his old partner Empty Void badly enough that the ninja leader spent all that time recovering.

His quickness borders on absurd: he flickered behind Flashy Flash, a hero celebrated for speed, before the man could so much as react, and he traded blows with a God-boosted Garou. Open space poses no threat to him either, its radiation and vacuum leaving him unfazed. The heart of his power is Portal Creation, letting him spin up dimensional gateways to bend attacks away, shuttle objects, or jump enormous distances in a blink; the bigger spherical kind looks like a black hole and once flung Saitama and Garou clear off the planet in the split second before their punches met, while his Shut technique clamps two portals shut around a trapped foe.

Gravity bends to him as well. He sheathes his knuckles in crushing gravitational orbs for the Gravity Knuckle, rains down spheres of gravitational force with Giga Gravity Blow, and launches a tiny singularity via the Dimension Cannon. The rest of his toolkit covers flight, a contact-triggered form of telepathy, a sharp instinct for reading how destructive an incoming attack will be, and a battle suit that may explain part of his toughness. On the side, he gathers up the mysterious cubes that let people reach 'God,' whisking them off to places unknown for fun.
