Mentai

A bandage sits across the bridge of Mentai's nose, and a little X-shaped scar marks his right cheek. He is a young man with matching pale hair and eyes. His outfit pairs a brown short-sleeved shirt printed with a chili pepper, gray trousers, and reddish gloves, with tufts of maroon fur trimming his collar and wrists.

Little has been revealed about who Mentai is. What stands out is his backbone: when Gouketsu pressured the tournament fighters to turn into monsters and several caved, Mentai flatly turned the offer down, unshaken by how much stronger the monsters plainly were.

Mentai enters the Super Fight held at the C-City stadium, his sixth run at the competition. Watching Suiryu dispatch Max with ease leaves him stunned, and his own bout ends in disaster when Choze beats him nearly to death. Recovering from those wounds, he takes a seat beside Lin Lin, Sour Face, and Zakos to watch the final between Suiryu and the disguised Saitama, marveling aloud at Suiryu's raw might. The closing ceremony is then hijacked by Gouketsu and the Three Crows, who order the fighters to become monsters or be killed. Terrified, Mentai looks on as some competitors accept, and he is nearly caught by Choze's energy blast before Suiryu shields him. He is relieved and even cheers once it becomes clear Suiryu never meant to take the offer, only to be knocked out with everyone else by the Crows. His strength is modest at best, given how quickly Choze overwhelmed him. His trademark method, the Spice Fist, coats his knuckles in potent spices meant to blind an opponent, though it has yet to be shown in action.
