Red Muffler

Red Muffler is a young man with cropped, pale hair. He suits up in plated armor made of a chest piece, shoulder guards, and shin protectors, each marked with a star, and a broad red scarf loops around his neck.

Grounded and practical, Red Muffler keeps a clear sense of what he can and cannot handle.

Red Muffler turns up across several skirmishes of the Human Monster Saga. He joins the crowd of heroes trying to bring down the Hundred-Eyes Octopus before Flashy Flash arrives, and is nearly flattened until Bone drags him clear. Later he gathers with other heroes in the wrecked Z-City Ghost Town after Tatsumaki flips the Monster Association Headquarters inside out, taking part in the debate over the depowered Garou until King interrupts the impromptu trial. He also answers the alarm at the A-City headquarters during Tatsumaki's clash with Apollo.

In the extra chapters he fares no better: Jumping Spider swats him and his fellow heroes aside until Bang steps in to save him, he shows up late to a monster attack Saitama has already ended, and he loses to the 170,000-Year-Old Cicada Nymph alongside Grad School Graduate and Darkness Blade. His fighting rests on close-quarters hand-to-hand work, including a leaping strike he calls the Red Meteoric Kick, and he moves with notable speed and reflexes. Even so, his unbroken losing streak, often despite backup from higher-ranked heroes, marks him as modest in raw power, which is why his output was chosen as the control reading of 100 on Child Emperor's gauge.
