Appearance

A mustache sits above the announcer's lip, and he favors a dark suit finished with a necktie and shades. The detail that draws the eye is his hair, an afro sculpted to resemble a microphone. That signature look came at the request of the series creator, ONE, who specifically wanted the hairstyle to echo the tool of the announcer's trade.

Personality

Volume defines him. The announcer works the crowd with a loud, over the top delivery that suits a fighting arena. He is also refreshingly frank, so much so that his laid back honesty sometimes spills out remarks that a large audience would have been better off never hearing. That bluntness colors his running commentary throughout the tournament.

History

His time behind the microphone predates the events of the story, since he had already hosted the previous twenty first tournament and named Wolfman, later known as Garou, its champion. For the twenty second competition he introduces every martial artist, calls the opening bouts, and repeatedly finds himself dumbfounded, first when Saitama in disguise flattens Zakos with a single slap, then again as Suiryu tears through the bracket.

As beasts begin rampaging outside the stadium, staff push to evacuate, but Bakuzan overrules them and vows to handle any intruder. The matches roll on, and the announcer keeps commentating even as he fails to track the speed of the final between Suiryu and the disguised Saitama, mistaking each blow for something less than it was. Saitama is disqualified once his wig is knocked loose and Suiryu is declared winner. The ceremony is then shattered by the arrival of Gouketsu and the Three Crows. Recognizing Gouketsu as the tournament's original champion, the announcer watches in horror as competitors accept monster transformations, is entrusted by Suiryu with a young civilian girl, and finally flees with the child as the situation collapses.
