Tatsumaki

Standing barely taller than a child, Tatsumaki is constantly taken for someone far younger than her real age. Her hair and eyes share the same vivid emerald tone, and the strands loop into loose curls at their tips, framing a youthful, almost girlish face.

Her wardrobe centers on a snug black dress that fastens at a tall collar and dips into a low V at the neckline. Its sleeves flare wide at the wrists, while four sharp slits climb high up the skirt and leave her legs largely bare above a pair of low black heels. The simplified art of ONE's webcomic sometimes renders her in a rounder, cruder style. After her clash with the merged Psykos and Orochi, a four-pointed star was left scarred into the center of each palm.

Short-tempered, impatient, and quick to sneer, Tatsumaki treats most people with open contempt, saving her sharpest scorn for anyone she judges weak or presumptuous. She once flung Genos into rubble merely for objecting to how she belittled Saitama, backing off only when Bang scolded her, and nothing riles her faster than being ignored or dismissed as a runt. Beneath the arrogance, though, she takes heroism seriously, accepting every monster-hunting request and even chasing beasts on her own when boredom strikes. Toward Fubuki she shows a buried tenderness that is smothered by obsessive, controlling overprotection.

Her overwhelming strength has bred a crippling superiority complex; she cannot accept that anyone, Saitama included, might surpass her, and Fubuki blames this on how rarely a foe truly threatens her. That same pride leaves her short on humility and empathy, and her tantrums have set off tremors the Association scrambled to contain, marking her among peers as a spoiled child rather than an adult. Molded by Blast's influence and a grim childhood, she has become fiercely self-reliant, dismissing friendship as a weakness and once vowing to tear every companion out of Fubuki's life. As a girl she believed she was the admired sister, never grasping that the local children clung to Fubuki out of fear of her, and that early isolation hardened the protective grip that still strains their bond.

Holding Rank 2 in the S-Class, Tatsumaki is widely regarded as the strongest esper alive and is treated by the Association as a weapon of last resort, a fighter many believe cannot be brought down by ordinary means. Her raw psychokinetic output is staggering: she stopped the orbital barrage from Boros's warship and flung the shells back, wrenched a skyscraper-sized octopus monster skyward before crushing it into a ball, and located Psykos buried more than a kilometer down before hauling her to the surface. Murata has remarked that she could, in theory, lift the whole of Z-City.

At full force she turns nearly apocalyptic. Facing the fused Psykos and Orochi, she tore meteor-scale boulders out of the ocean, caught an energy beam able to split the planet's crust and simply hurled it aside, then wrung the monster's body until Z-City itself buckled. She hoisted the whole Monster Association base up from underground while shielding the heroes trapped inside, shrugged off gravity multiplied three hundred times, and later ground all of P-City into sand to be certain the self-replicating Aggregation could not survive. Her barriers range from personal shields to domes that blanket much of a city, and she can keep them standing even while unconscious. In the webcomic a blow to the head is one of her few weaknesses, since a concussion scrambles her control.

Beyond brute force she fights with cunning and precision. She has fooled enemies with psychic decoys of herself, matched the wavelength of an opponent's signals to find and safely extract a poison pill lodged inside Fubuki, and spun up tornadoes to fling debris at lethal speed. Her toolkit also covers flight, telepathic contact with her sister, a chi-bending technique that pins and pains a target, and the Psychic Whirlwind, an anti-esper method that circles her signals into a ring to deflect incoming attacks. Her stamina matches her power, letting her battle on through grave wounds and rejoin the fight after only moments of rest.
