The King of the Lake

Sheer size is what turns this fish into a local legend. Its enormous body draws the attention of countless anglers over the years, all of them hoping to be the one to land it. One veteran fisherman claims the creature has lurked in the park waters for generations without ever taking a hook, though its shadow can occasionally be spotted gliding beneath the surface.

Very little is understood about how the fish behaves. The anglers who chase it describe a wary animal that keeps to the depths, almost never showing itself and steadfastly ignoring any bait dropped its way.

The fish meets its end in the bonus chapter Catch & Smash. Following rumors of a monster loose in the forest, Saitama sweeps the K-City nature park and strikes up a conversation with a fisherman there. The angler explains that he practices catch and release, insisting he would free even the fabled King of the Lake if he ever reeled it in. Moments later his line finally goes taut on the long sought prize, only for him to haul up a fish already half devoured. The culprit is Lord Great White, a seafolk who crowns himself the new Sea King in the wake of the Deep Sea King's death. Before the creature can turn on the fisherman, Saitama disposes of it. Beyond its remarkable bulk, the fish possesses no powers past those ordinary to its kind.
