Tongara

Standing tall, Tongara wears his black hair clipped close over sharp features, his jawline and brow both strongly defined. For combat he suits up in a custom power armor patterned in black and white.

Composed and magnetic at the head of his team, Tongara favors a steady, resolute front that he breaks now and then with a cutting, sardonic quip. The Monster Association's capture shatters that calm and exposes plain dread. Having both witnessed and dealt out battlefield horrors, he has grown bleakly nihilistic: to him, talk of justice and heroes is childish daydreaming, and only money holds any true worth, so he bends his ethics toward whatever profits him. A brief spell beside Atomic Samurai's disciples reawakens a trace of idealism, enough that he flings himself between Bushidrill and Evil Natural Water. Dying, he scoffs at his own late turn to heroism and takes his end as just another anonymous death.

Little survives about Tongara's earlier life. He soldiers for years inside a private military outfit, moving through wars and secret operations before Narinki recruits his squad, and the rot he witnesses across those campaigns leaves him numb to questions of right and wrong. Narinki tasks the unit with pulling his son Waganma out of the Monster Association, promising riches deep enough to keep their descendants idle for generations. The mercenaries drop two Mysterious Beings before G5 captures them and marches them to Orochi and Gyoro Gyoro, where Tongara sobs for his life and swears they came purely for the paycheck. Royal Ripper slaughters the monsters closing in so he can keep the captives, scoring an X into Tongara's face, until Do-S halts him with her whip and lashes the whole squad into brainwashed puppets. Turned loose against Atomic Samurai's disciples, Tongara loses his rifle to Iaian's blade, and when Sweet Mask readies a killing blow the disciples return, pin the squad without harm, and snap Do-S's control. Still chasing his payout, he refuses to leave Waganma behind and later corners the fleeing Master Joe; his shot lands, but the monster trips the lever loosing Evil Natural Water. A jet punches his chest, and seeing the flood swing toward Bushidrill he hurls the swordsman aside and eats the projectiles himself. Iaian and Okamaitachi drag him clear, and as the dying captain waves them off and laughs at his own folly, the torrent sweeps his body away for Mad Doctor Fish to devour. His Organization-built armor lets him press top A-Class fighters, and even weaponless his honed reflexes make him dangerous up close.
