Surly Brothers
CharacterThe Surly Brothers, known in the Viz edition as the Blunt Brothers, are a trio of hero siblings: the A-Class Smile Man, the B-Class Crying Man, and the C-Class Angry Man. Frustrated by a lack of fame, they redirect their efforts toward wiping out as many monsters as they can.
Overview
The team is built around three brothers, Smile Man, Crying Man, and Angry Man, each licensed at a different class within the Hero Association. Popularity always eluded them, even after they slapped facial expressions onto their uniforms in a bid to draw more attention. Coming to terms with that, they settled on a simpler purpose: to exterminate as many monsters as possible.
Role
In the omake Disaster Level, the brothers make their entrance by taking down the monster Macho Radish. Despite the creature carrying a Demon-level classification, the siblings dispatch it without much trouble. The Hero Association then directs them to another nearby threat. That target, Withered Sprout, feigns weakness to lure them in before turning the tables and freezing the entire trio solid. Initially pegged as a mere Wolf-level nuisance, Withered Sprout is later suspected of being a Dragon-level danger.
Notable Members
Smile Man leads the group at A-Class, joined by his brothers Crying Man at B-Class and Angry Man at C-Class, all three registered with the Hero Association. Despite the name, which points to an unfriendly and rude disposition, none of the brothers actually behaves that way.
