Chapter 133: Turn Over!

Garou keeps pounding Superalloy Darkshine, ducking one of the hero's blows and returning a strike hard enough to draw blood. As Garou jeers, Darkshine can only stare back, gripped by dread. The chapter then steps back to trace how the towering hero came to be.

Once a frail boy shut out of sports and physical play, Darkshine had no confidence to speak of. A gift of three-kilogram dumbbells on his fifteenth birthday changed that, and daily training with ever-heavier loads built him into a giant. His strength brought pride, and he joined the Hero Association still hunting a rival who could stretch him to his limit.

Under Garou's relentless pressure, Darkshine realizes he never truly wanted a fight for its own sake, only one that would end in a comfortable win. The instant defeat enters his mind, the fear he had long buried surges up and swallows him. He flails out and knocks Garou aside, but dark spirals mark the wounds and they close almost at once. Garou boots him in the gut, cracks a kick across his chin, and pins him down, then halts as the hero whimpers, judging the beating to be mere bullying and a shabby sort of evil.

As the chapter ends, Garou's joints begin to pop and the dark markings creep toward his face, while a psychic shell from Tatsumaki hauls Darkshine upward just as the ceiling caves in on his opponent. Told to flee, Darkshine loses sight of Garou and bows his head in shame. Filed in Volume 27 under the Viz title Bowled Over!, the release features Garou and Superalloy Darkshine on the cover and includes a bonus page: a sharp sketch bust of Garou with fierce eyes and spiked hair.
