Chapter 143: Into the Abyss

Drive Knight and Genos fire heavy beams into Psykos' aircraft, cramming it with more energy than it can bear. Psykos soaks it up and channels it straight back through the gash they made, dropping the pair toward the ground. Her follow-up shot at Tatsumaki is knocked off course by a giant boulder from Tanktop Master, whose strength Fubuki has boosted, letting him bury Psykos under a hail of rocks and give the rest of the heroes room to recover.

Reaching Genos, Drive Knight suggests they merge to wring out their peak power. Genos consents despite warning that his core is nearly spent, and their fused form, Tactical Combination: Promoted Rook, pins Psykos in the air. Tanktop Master then hurls a whole building carrying Atomic Samurai, Puri-Puri Prisoner, and Superalloy Darkshine, who together loose Atomic Beeline Slash, Vibration Dark Angel Rush, and Superalloy Missile to slam the fusion into the earth. Psykos splits from Orochi just as Bang and Bomb land their Cross Fang Dragon Slayer Fist, laying out the Monster King. Tatsumaki lines up the finishing strike on Orochi as the ground begins to shudder.

Below the surface, Flashy Flash notes that his arm is crushed under heavy rubble, and Saitama turns up a cube-shaped object like the one Blast held when he rescued Tatsumaki years ago. Before Flash can free himself, Tatsumaki rips the earth open above them, wrecking Instakill, his katana, which was buried in the same debris. She feeds psychic power into the spire and trains it on Orochi for the kill.

Manako tries to escape through the gap that had trapped Flash's arm, but the three make out an unsettling shape within: a huge humanoid folded into a fetal pose, presumed to be God. The figure seems to exist in a separate dimension entirely.

The chapter ran in Volume 28 with the VIZ Media title Into the Abyss and partially adapts webcomic chapter 78. Saitama, Flashy Flash, and Manako share the cover, and God is shown only by presumption.
