Abyss

Saitama, Flashy Flash, and Manako stare down into the strange pit and find only darkness, one that even Manako's own light cannot pierce. A voice slips into their minds, apparently belonging to God, and dangles the offer of power. Before anything can come of it, Blast tears open a wormhole and steps through. He explains that touching one of the mysterious cubes is what lets the voice reach them, and that gathering the cubes has become something of a personal pastime for him.

Once the voice confirms Blast's identity, Flashy Flash decides to test the legendary hero and throws his Flash Kicks, all of which Blast slips past with ease. Blast then opens another wormhole to carry the three of them back up to the surface.

On the surface, Child Emperor, Zombieman, and Sweet Mask are holding the rear line during the fight with Psykos and Orochi. Child Emperor, blaming himself for weak command, tries to hand leadership to Zombieman, but Sweet Mask dismisses the idea and brands Zombieman a pseudo-monster he cannot trust. As Zombieman steadies the young inventor, Homeless Emperor erupts from the earth and opens fire. Sweet Mask evades the energy spheres, yet Zombieman absorbs the volley to shield Child Emperor and is left with his body ripped apart.

High above the ruins, Tatsumaki drives an energy spear straight through Orochi, shredding him. The spear bores into the ground and comes to rest close to a mysterious sacrificial altar.

Viz Media publishes this installment under the same title, Abyss. The chapter marks Blast's arrival at the pit and his role in explaining the cubes' link to the voice. This is the volume edition; its content corresponds to the online release numbered as the 149th chapter.
